February 17th, 2012
During the week I come across hundreds of news items about Christianity and Islam. Here is what I found most interesting/significant for the week of February 11-February 17.
Muslim Persecution of Christians: January 2012 – The beginning of the New Year saw only an increase in the oppression of Christians under Islam, from Nigeria, where an all-out jihad has been declared in an effort to eradicate the Muslim north of all Christians, to Europe, where Muslim converts to Christianity are still hounded and attacked as apostates. Iran and the Bomb - Netanyahu to visit US as nations align over Iran threat (Journeyman Pictures)
Interpol accused after journalist arrested over Muhammad tweet – Saudi Arabia used Interpol’s system to get journalist arrested in Malaysia for insulting the Prophet Muhammad on Twitter (theguardian)
Islamic religious persecution goes unnoticed (Video) – Religious freedom is an essential human right. People should have the right to publicly profess, practice, propagate, evangelize, and change their religion at will. Where religious persecution occurs Americans are called upon to denounce it.
