60 Minutes and the People Behind the Mosque

60 Minutes recently did a piece on the “Ground Zero Mosque” (Park 51/Cordoba Center).  Scott Pelley interviewed the key players in the Islamic Center debate: Sharif El-Gamal, the Cordoba House developer. Pam Geller, one of the most vocal opponents of the Islamic Community Center. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the head leader of the Islamic Center. [...]

Public Remains Conflicted Over Islam

The Pew Forum recently came out with statistics on American’s view of Islam.  Here are some of the findings:   The report also noted, As in previous Pew Research surveys, most Americans say they know little about the Muslim religion. Cordova Center at Ground Zero?

Recently Fox News hosted Terek Fatah on the Cordova Islamic Center proposed to be built two blocks from Ground Zero.  Fatah appears to be a liberal and progressive Muslim and so I’m not confident that he represents the majority of the Muslim community in North America.  Fatah said of the proposed Islamic center:  “All [...]

Five Questions about Building an Islamic Center at Ground Zero

Cordoba House Islamic Center and Ground Zero The question of whether an Islamic Center should be built at Ground Zero involves answering several other questions:  Were the 9/11 hijackers Muslims? Who decides what a true Muslim is, and how is this decision made? If the 19 hijackers were still alive, would they be allowed entry into Mecca, and [...]
