Three Things About Islam
August 9th, 2010
It has been said, “Most people only expose themselves to information that matches their own worldview. It is uncomfortable to do otherwise.” It is “uncomfortable” for me to post the following video because it says things that I don’t believe are entirely accurate. Nevertheless, I’ll post it and ask for your comments.

What is your opinion?

I was aware that lying was acceptable, but I now understand the difference between earlier and later passages. there was a lot of violence in the early church, the crusades, the inquisition, and burning witches but Christianity has moved away from violence in the last few centuries. That doesn’t mean there are no violent Christians but as a whole we are peaceful. God does not want us to kill people who do not agree or believe in Him.
If you stand by and do nothing when violence is happening you are as much to blame as those committing the crime. So to all you “moderate” Muslims, you’re not moderate if you keep silent. If you stand together against the violence you would be honoring your moderate stand. Fear makes you turn your head while innocents are being killed. You need to take the guilt on your head.
Interesting insight about complicity. I think this is illustrated by the recent monsoon flooding in Pakistan. Pakistan doesn’t want the world to stand around and do nothing while millions are suffering. However, the government in Pakistan has a tragic history of doing little or nothing about the plight of many of its citizens.
