The building of a mosque in Utica is an example of how Satan works through subtle, covert means. Under the guise of “tolerance for diversity” and perhaps accepted because of the economic contributions of Muslims, Christians who dare to oppose this building or the one near Ground Zero might be regarded as bigoted and short-sighted when in fact the exact opposite is true: We simply (should) want to protect our heritage from those who have no regard for our country, our way of life or – for those such as myself – adherence to the Word of God. The manner in which we do this, however, may not necessarily be only by voicing our complaints in the public sphere, but also by espousing sound doctrine in our churches and following Christ’s will in our daily lives. This doctrine needs to be grounded on the Bible, the inerrant Word of God, which is the doctrine presented at Pastor Aaron Goerner’s church and as discussed in his book, “Is the Qur’an the Word of God?”

As Sue Lorraine noted in her post on this topic, the Central Methodist church on Court Street was of great significance from a Christian perspective, and it is saddening to learn of a Christian church converted into a mosque. The changes are more subtle and consequently more readily accepted, as the building goes from an old Methodist Church to a mosque, rather than resurrecting a new building altogether. However, the change is no less profound – it represents a rise in a Muslim population which is non-submissive to God and sometimes militant and coercive against those who simply differ from their way of life, and especially those who espouse Jesus Christ. The true intent of the Muslim religion is indeed to convert the United States, and the rest of the world, to Islam. As Christians, while these events may encourage us to better understand the fallacies in the teachings of Islam, hopefully it will especially inspire us to open the Word of God, pray, and delve deeper into our relationship with Christ.

There are many religions of the world. There are only 2 religions that I have forced their religion on people in the past. That would be Catholics, and Muslims. To me, this means that both are in the business of forcing submission to their beliefs and doctrines.
Today there is a strong movement from the Muslim religion that continue’s to use terroristic, and war like methods to force their submission on people.
My one and only Messiah, and creator of this world promises me everlasting life, and salvation for believing in him, and following him. There are laws written by his finger specifically (the Ten Commandments) Which is just one piece of proof that my Christian god exists. not to commit adultery, is one of those laws. If that was so, than how can the muslim god who promises 72 virgins in heaven, be the same creator of this world.
This is just one of my arguments, of my proof that the Christian God is who should be loved and feared. And why I will not SUBMIT to the Terrorism of Muslim submission.
For the Mosque here in Utica, I don’t like it, as much as I don’t like the fact the approval and development of the Mosque going up at ground zero. The same tactic is used there as it is here in Utica. The symbolism is what you must see and use to unveil what the Muslims intent is. Their intent is to convert the United States to Islam. People, get ready for a holocaust by the Muslim hands.

Of course I do not like to see the big ld churches turned in to mosques. But like the big Catholic congregations, if there is a “parish” system and not many little groups, then you can afford a big building with plenty of room and people to support and use it. Few Christian churces can do that anymore.

This particular building, Central Methodist’s on Court Street, had a significant role in defining American Methodist government in the mid-1800′s. More historically accessible, is its prominent part in the novel “Damnation of Theron Ware” by local author Harold Frederic. One literary review called it “the most discussed American book in the 1800′s”. Now all we can do is pass by the building and hope someone remembers that Christians in Utica once were boldly vocal in doctrine and consistent in giving and worship. They built churches reflecting the beauty of Christ, the skill of craftsmen in His service, and designed for use every day of the week.

We pass this mosque in disgust at its being a current house of non-submissiveness to God. But public complaints would get us nowhere. The Bible churches of Utica need to pursue sound doctrine, be more public and vocal in their doctrinal teaching, and capture the hearts of the Mohawk Valley again for the Trinue God and His salvation purchased for all who will submit to Him. This Triune God is the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit – known by no other name and is the God all humans on earth are to identify and worship. The Bible is God’s truthful word to all humans in all ages. I recommend sound doctrinal teaching such as can be found by Aaron Goerner’s book. Let us never confuse any other religion with Christianity.
